Collin County Donation Station hosted by Volunteer McKinney at Mitchell Park in historic downtown McKinney, (300 W. Louisiana Street, McKinney, TX 75069) – 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. – will feature food trucks, music, balloon artists, an official proclamation by local dignitaries, games, on-the spot-volunteer projects, nonprofit prizes, animals, miniature horses and llamas.

Now in its eighth year, North Texas Giving Day, powered by Communities Foundation of Texas, has pumped $119 million into local nonprofits over the past seven one-day events and has broken four national giving day records since 2009. The North Texas Giving Day Collin County Donation Station hosted by Volunteer McKinney will feature food trucks, music, balloon artists, an official proclamation by local dignitaries, games, on-the spot-volunteer projects, nonprofit prizes, animals, miniature horses and llamas. On Giving Day donations of $25-50,000 can be made 6 a.m. to midnight to 2,500 certified nonprofits listed on www.NorthTexasGivingDay.org. Donations will be amplified by more than $2 million in general bonus funds and prizes.

Collin County Donation Station will include:

  • FOOD TRUCKS! -The Guava Tree Truck, Gigi’s Treats and Ruthie’s Rolling CafĂ©
  • Proclamation by McKinney Mayor
  • Performance by Horsepower Drumline
  • $3,000 in prizes awarded by Vector Systems
  • 65 nonprofit agency booths
  • Magicians
  • Live music
  • Furry friends, including miniature horses and llamas
  • All outside in the fresh air, right by historic downtown McKinney at Mitchell Park

Prizes: Three $500 prizes ($1,500 total) will be awarded via random drawing to three nonprofit organizations participating in the Collin County Donation Station event.
