BlueJay wireless and participants donate $4000 to counter homelessness

To promote volunteering, Shannon Davis – Community Service Manager at Blue Jay Wireless – came up with an event for her #giveaday. The initiative is where Blue Jay employees take 1 out of every 10 work days and give back to the community by volunteering.

Shannon organized an invite-only Pub Crawl to raise money for the Samaritan Inn of McKinney, Texas, in the wake of Homeless Awareness Week. It took place in Addison, Texas, and all donations collected were designated for the Samaritan Inn, which is the largest homeless program in Collin County.

Amount Raised

Overall, $4000 was raised for the Samaritan Inn during the event. Participants raised $2000, along with a participating corporate match program brought the grand total to $4000, that allowed Carrollton based Blue Jay Wireless to donate the full amount to the Samaritan Inn.
